Antitrust suit hits AI labs as Anthropic's CEO calls for more regulation
A new lawsuit accuses Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceX-linked xAI and Google of coordinating to slow down AI development, while Anthropic's CEO separately called for tougher regulation. Elsewhere, Chinese labs keep undercutting Western pricing and OpenAI pushes further into agent infrastructure.

01Lawsuit accuses Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI and Google of colluding to slow AI down
A new lawsuit alleges that Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceX-linked xAI and Google made an illegal agreement to deliberately slow down AI development. The claim is at an early stage and the companies have not been shown to have admitted or been found liable for anything.
If courts take this seriously it could reshape how the major AI providers compete and release products, which affects which tools stay available and how fast they improve.

02Anthropic's CEO publicly calls for stronger AI regulation
In an interview, Anthropic's chief executive called for governments to impose stronger regulation on the AI industry. This comes from one of the companies building the most capable models, not an outside critic.
New rules on AI could eventually mean more compliance requirements for any business using AI tools, so it is worth watching which specific rules get proposed.
03Qwen and DeepSeek keep undercutting Western AI pricing
Chinese lab Qwen released Qwen3.8-Omni-Flash, a multimodal model built for AI agents that processes audio and video and can use tools on its own, nearly matching Google's Gemini Flash on benchmarks at a fraction of the cost. Separately, DeepSeek released a new large-context model (DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash) aimed at handling very long documents efficiently.
Cheaper models with comparable performance mean businesses building AI-powered tools have more options to cut costs without sacrificing much quality.

04OpenAI launches an Agents API for building autonomous agents
OpenAI introduced a managed Agents API that lets developers build and run cloud-based AI agents capable of long-running tasks, tool use and orchestration, powered by the same engine behind its Codex coding tool.
This lowers the technical barrier for businesses that want AI systems to handle multi-step tasks on their own rather than just answering one-off questions.

05Unity ships official AI coding plugins to fix outdated tutorial problem
Unity released official plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex so that AI coding assistants stop pulling from outdated tutorials when generating game development code.
Any business relying on AI coding assistants for software work benefits when tool makers officially support them, since it reduces the risk of AI-generated code being based on stale or wrong information.
